Frequently asked questions - fees and pricing

Can I use Medicare/Mental Health Plan Rebates?

Counselling and lived experience support services are not covered under the Australian Government's Medicare rebate system. As a result, Mental Health Care Plans cannot be used to access our services or those of similar providers.

We have intentionally structured our fees to remain affordable, and offer concession rates to certain populations to try and offer accessible support. Our session rates are generally lower than the typical out-of-pocket cost of seeing a psychologist, meaning that even without a Medicare rebate, many people find our services to be a cost-effective option.

Do you offer concessions or sliding scale fees?

For private paying clients (Without NDIS or other funding options), we offer a 25% reduced fee that applies to certain populations.

This includes anyone who is:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

  • Low/No Income Earners

  • Full Time Students (High School & Tertiary)

  • Referred to us from a Public Area Mental Health Service/Hospital

What about Victims of Crime Funding?

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer any services that are available via Victims of Crime Funding. Lived Experience Practitioners are not eligible to provide these services according to state governments.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your appointment, we ask you to provide at least 48 hours' notice.

Where 48 hours or more notice is provided, no charge will be implemented to the participant. Where less than 48 hours' notice is given, the 50% of the session fee will apply, as this time has been reserved specifically for the client.

If <24 hours is provided, we reserve the right to charge the full session fee cost.

We allow clients 1 occurance to cancel with any amount of late notice regardless of reason, before implementing this policy.

If you arrive late and there is insufficient time to safely and effectively conduct the session, the appointment may need to be cancelled, and the full session fee will still apply.

We implement this policy flexibly, and can decide when it is implemented to ensure we stay committed to accessibility and flexibility. Our decision can be formulated based on repeated cancellations, the circumstances of why you are cancelling, and we will document when these occur and have a discussion with you about what is a barrier to engagement.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. Where possible, we're happy to work with you to reschedule your appointment, and we'll always do our best to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.

Can I do a different length of session?

Yes, we are able to offer modified session lengths based on individual needs. We can offer both shortened sessions at a minimum of 45 minutes for most services, and extended session to a maximum of 90 minutes.

Initial assessments or if we haven't connected in the last 12 months, will be a minimum of 60 minutes for the first session.
